Pumpkin to Jack-O-Lantern (AM)

We have been learning a lot about the parts of the pumpkin; ribs, pulp, seeds, stem. The children got to experience this with a real pumpkin. They got to touch all the different parts, including helping to clean out the pumpkin by removing the pulp and seeds.
As a class we decided to take a vote, and select the shapes for the eyes, nose, and mouth. The shape choices were rectangle, square, circle, triangle, and heart. The children wrote their names in the shape they wanted, we counted, and I carved!
