Grocery Store

Let the shopping commence! As soon as the store opened up, the grocery carts where moving and filling up fast. Playing I spy in the store with a list is also a lot of fun, and great team work to find all the items on the list!

Holiday's around the world

Our holiday's around the world celebration is about to begin! Before we get to travel the world, we needed to prep our passports and suitcases. Today we wrote our name on our passport book, and decorated our suit cases!
Some of the places we will travel to, and projects we will do include:
Australia-making a surf board ornament
England-making a pickle
Israel-hand print Menorah
Mexico-poinsettia
France-French Nativity called creche
Africa-Kwanzaa bracelet
Holland-shoes with gifts
and then the Polar Express party to celebrate our traditions including making a tree!

Let's go Krogering :) Grocery theme

Our classroom has changed to the Grocery store (thank you for all the boxes and jars)! The children can go shopping, create their own lists, circle/find the food on a pre-made list, and/or become a cashier/bagger!
The science center will allow the children to create spin art, and explore with mixing colors. The sensory table is going on a I Spy Hunt, and looking for letters, numbers, and shapes. Along with the table, there are bottles of rice that they can do a mini hunt (letters, numbers, colors, and sight words!) The white board allows them to fill their carts by using the numbers provided and groceries.

During this theme we will:
-ABC soup bowl stamping
-grapes (bubble wrap painting)
-create a Pigeon story "Dont let the Pigeon eat..."
-learn three new letters O, W, C
-hear three great stories: Lunch, The Pigeon finds a hot dog, and Llama Llama mad at mamma
-counting and filling grocery carts
-cutting bananas
-seeds in the watermelon
-learn about money with the funny money song (all the coins)

Inside Out PJ party

It was a yummy and cozy day in preschool last Tuesday. I always like to celebrate going on break with a PJ Party! We wrote a letter together and in response to the fish class invite for a PJ party as well, so it turned into a shared writing lesson as well :)

Firefighter/Truck visit PM Class

We had a visit a few Thursday's ago from the Mason Fire Department. We talked about a lot of tools on the fire truck, and ambulance, we saw a fire fighter get dressed up, talked about safety rules, and got to explore a fire truck and ambulance :) It was a great day!
