Brownies (PM)

To wrap up our bakery theme, we made brownies. The children got to add the ingredients, mix the batter, and of course eat the brownies. They will tell you what amazing cooks/bakers that they are, and I have to agree so many little bakers in the Octopus Room :)

Its a zoo in here...

We have switched themes to rain forest/jungle/zoo. We will be exploring many types of animals that will be found in the wild :)
We will continue to learn 3 more letters, working with numbers (more with the teens), lots of new animals, living vs non living, and sorting by size.
Dramatic play allows us to explore a jungle, and turn into an animal doctor to help when animals are hurt. The waterfall in the jungle allows the children to explore washing animals within the sensory table.
3 new great stories will occur during the zoo theme. Dear Zoo-we will get a new animal each day from the zoo connecting to the book, and writing to the zoo to send us an animal as well for a writing opportunity in our journals.  Bark George will allow us to explore with many different animal sounds, and how to be a vet. The pigeon wants a puppy (one of our favorite characters) and yet another writing experience for another animal the pigeon could want.
