We worked during small group by "feeding the octopus" a variety of academics like colors, shapes, our names, and numbers. The children would roll the die, have to recognize and find the match, then feed the octopus on the smart board. To finish our group, we worked on colors, and dot paint decorated an octopus picture.
We have been color detectives in the Octopus Class. Today we selected our favorite colors for another octopus class book.
Fine motor practice happens daily in the Octopus class-from a choice at the art center, to special activity. During our small group we made an Octopus by cutting out tentacles to glue on. This worked on our fine motor skills and made us strong with cutting!
