We have switched themes again. Every three weeks our classroom becomes something new, a new journey to explore and learn within.
We will be exploring things that go; transportation. We will learn about cars, trains, buses, bikes, roller coasters, planes, and more!
Here are some of the things we will learn about:
Letters T, V, and P
Sorting colors by the traffic light (learning what the signals mean)--sorry for all the backseat drivers you might get
Sorting by size (big medium and small)
Journal writing; I like to ride in a .....
sponge painting, shape sail boats, and pattern trains
speed-using ramps to make cars go faster, and slower
traveling around the world-visiting the travel agent to buy a ticket on the bus
Our first sink and float experience-during small group we will explore different items that sink and float
We will end the month with our first non fiction unit about spiders. We have learned 2 songs about spiders, itsy bitsy spider game (roll and move up the water spout), and will read fiction and non fiction books to learn more. We will complete our first K/L chart (know/learn) of things we know about spiders, and then things we learn.
The children will generate a list with me about things they want to learn about and explore with things that go to make sure all areas of interest are being met. It is also a great shared writing experience.
