Animal cracker counting

Food is the best way to a preschoolers heart :) I do a lot with math and food-it just seems to work! We made our animal cracker zoos!
The children had to decorate their zoo, pick a number out of the bag, and then glue that many animals into their zoos.
So much counting, and numeral ID-makes preschool a yummy and fun place.

Hippo counting

Sometimes, I find something so cute I just can't help myself! These hippos during our zoo theme made counting, and number recognition so much fun. Each child had to pick a number from the bag, count out that number of "teeth" (marsh mellows) and glue them on. Of course what good is working with food if you can't sample. They also got to add some "teeth" to their mouths too!

-stars and moons (creating night time skies)
-learning about the letters U and N
-diving into our numbers (recognizing, counting, and writing them)
-Dr. Seuss Read Across America fun and spirit week

Cool Critters (AM)

Bryan from the Cool Critters Outreach is always such a fun day. He brings many animals for the children to touch, see, and learn all about while keeping it safe, and fun for them.
