Week of the mitten

Winter time theme brings along one of my most favorite books, "The Mitten," by Jan Brett and many activities to support it.
We made matching mittens (painted one side, and pressed the other side to create symmetry), lacing a mitten and story retell with their own mini mittens, acting out the story with masks and props, and our journal activity: My mitten is so big _______ could fit inside! Many different things were drawn to fit inside the mittens from dinosaurs, oranges, pizza, their families, and even Octopi!
