The children get to explore in dramatic play with our pizzeria, the sensory table to create paper pizzas, science with spin art, and building a pizza. In the writing center new pizza vocabulary words have been added, and you have paint a slice or whole pizza each day! We are working on beginning sound pizzas and drawing the shapes that make a pizza a pizza (triangles, and cirlces!) We also got new blocks for the light table to continue to build those amazing creations!
For special activities we will explore with the following:
cutting toppings for a class pizza
individual shape pizzas
tracing shape pizza
(clearly shapes are the theme and major focus during this unit) counting shape pizza
Italian flag
pizza patterns
Our two books are "Pete's a pizza," and "Hi Pizza Man!" Both are so much fun to act out :)
Academic choice is focusing on: shapes, counting, letter ID, and building letters
