Polar Express

All the traveling has lead us up to riding on the Polar Express. The room transformed into the train with tracks all along the room, a ticket booth, the north pole, and even a bell and golden ticket for each Octopi! We had hot coco, and popcorn since it was a long trip up to the North Pole. It was such a fun day.

Sweden

Our last day of travels took us to Sweden. We learned that they don't celebrate Christmas-they celebrate St. Lucia's day which also occurs on the Winter Soltice (which is the shortest day of the year). The dress in fancy clothes and wear a crown of candles on their heads.
We created a crown of candles to remember our time in Sweden.

Russia

We learned about how children in Russia celebrate the holiday-They did not have Santa who brings them gifts but babushka (grandmother) who brings them gifts. The nutcracker ballet is originated from Russia.
We created a nutcracker to remember our time in Russia.
