Joyeux Noel-merry christmas from France!

We ended the week in France.   We learned how they celebrate Christmas, and colored a Creche to remember our time.

1. Joyeux Noel means Merry Christmas.

2. Pere Noel means Santa Claus.

2. They make a chocolate treat called a Yule log.

3. The children put their shoes out so Pere Noel can fill them with gifts.

4. French Navitivity scene is called a Creche.

Happy Diwali!

 We went to India today and celebrated Diwali (even though we already celebrated this with friends in October). We learned all about Diwali, and to remember our time made our time in India made our own MiHindi (Henna tattoos).

1. Christmas is a very small festival in India.

2. They decorate banana or mango trees.

3. Some people celebrate Diwali which means row of lights.

4. Diwali happens in October-November and is celebrated for 5 days.

5. Many people celebrate by giving gifts, decorating their houses with lights, and henna or MiHindi.

























Happy Chinese New Year!

 We are off to China today to celebrate the Chinese New Year; year of the snake for 2025, and year of the horse for 2026.

We learned:

1. They celebrate the spring festival. This day changes every year because it follows the lunar calendar.

2. Chinese new year starts a new animal zodiac year. 2025. This the year of the Snake. They will celebrate on 1/29/2025

3. The celebration lasts for 15 days till Lantern festival.

4. Most decorations are in red.

We made a lantern and ripped red paper for the lucky color.
