Spring into Summer

Our last classroom theme is spring and summer. We will explore many things that happen in the spring like butterflies/caterpillars, rainbows, and flowers. We will also explore things that are related to summer like sand, crabs, sea horses, shells, fish, and water!
We will learn about the life cycle of the butterfly. We will work in our journals (documenting the butterflies and caterpillars, and what we learned about in preschool). We will sort shells, and bugs. Our classroom has changed into a flower shop, place to make a picnic, sand/shells, and a pool.

Kindergarten Here We Come

Watch out Kindergarten....here comes the Octopus Crew-
We tip toed through the Kindergarten environment, looked to see what was the same and what was different. It was very exciting!

Reading celebration

Not every child gets to become a reader in preschool, but it amazes me year after year how many actually do! The amount of readers this year I had the priviledge of teaching was 40-from all of MECC preschool. They worked so hard all year learning sight words, reading in a guided reading setting, participating in phonics activities, and having fun!
To celebrate of course, popsicles were needed!
Happy reading!

Goodbye butterflies

We released our butterflies into the beautiful butterfly garden so they could live in the wild.
We watched them go through their entire life cycle and cared for them each step of the way (the only step they didn't see was the egg). Science is truly beautiful and fun!

Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom Celebration (PM)

We had a full day to celebrate learning all of our letters. We have worked all year long writing, recognizing, learning sounds, and words with all letters!
We celebrated by receiving our scrap books, watching Chicka, Chicka Boom, Boom, decorating "our" own letter, I spy letters/stickers, and making a palm tree. We of course had to have a tasty snack, and made a coconut tree out of bananas and apples!
It was a fun day!
