We started our week off traveling to Israel. We learned about Hanukkah:
1. In Israel, they celebrate Hanukkah.
2. They light a Menorah for 8 nights.
3. They play dreidel games.
4. The children get gold coins called Gelt
5. The celebrate by eating potato latkes
We made a Menorah to remember our travels.
We have switched themes to the grocery store. Thank you for helping to stock our shelves with real boxes and jars so it feels more authentic. We will learn about money/coins, share our favorite environmental print/food item from the grocery store, and lots of counting while stocking the shelves!
Our third trip was to Mexico. We learned:
1. They celebrate Christmas for 9 days.
2. The three kings bring gifts in Mexico
3. They celebrate with pinatas
4. The poinsettia comes from Mexico.
5. Feliz Navidad means Merry Christmas.
We listened and danced to Feliz Navidad, and made a poinsettia to remember our time in Mexico.
