We are slowing starting to open up the classroom, which means exploring the rules and how to of many different centers and materials. Today we explored with the path/math games. These games will change with each theme-the current games include:
1. Pelican/fish-roll the dice and feed the bird the color fish
2. cup and number matching
3. Shells and crabs-roll the die and put that number of shells in the sand
4. number puzzles
5. Stack-o-pus
Today we opened up the art easel. We learned how to draw pictures with chalk, and how to paint with 4 different colors. Painting comes with a lot of set up from getting your paper and smock, to making your creation. Preschool is a messy place but a beautiful one.
We opened up our first center and learned all about how to build and play with blocks. We talked about how to take care of our friends, and school when building and cleaning up with some easy shape matching practice.
The Octopus Class is ready for all the fun, and learning that will happen this year :)
