Carving pumpkins is one of my most favorite things to do with the Octopus Class. The masks covered their faces, but there were not shy about how "gross" and "slimy" it felt. After we removed the seeds and pulp, we took a class vote on what shape to make the eyes, nose, and mouth.
We played memory farm edition. We had to find matches of momma animals to their babies. Before the game began we enjoyed a classic story "Are you my mother?"
We have begun our exploration into letters, starting with the letter A which fell perfectly with the fall and farm theme. We tasted apples, red, green, and yellow-many were fans of all three but we had to select our favorite one. Each child picked their favorite, graphed that choice, and then put their apple in their journal.
