We played an Ispy game which involved shaking a bottle, and matching/recognizing letters. Even if the letters were hard to figure out, we worked on labeling the colors that we saw and using that to dot on our coconut tree!

Ready, Set, Paint!
At the start of school we open each center slowly. This is a guided discovery. We learn how to play, explore creating, and how to clean up. One of the first centers we opened was the easel. One side has chalk and how to draw pictures, and the other is paint. Preschool is a messy place, but amazing creations come out of the mess!
Brown Bear, Brown Bear color sorting
Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see? I see the Octopus sorting with candy! Using our beloved book characters, the children sorted with M&M's to match the color of the animals--of course after we got to eat them candy :) Preschool is a yummy place!
Path games, math games!
At the start of school we open each center slowly. This is a guided discovery. We learn how to play, explore creating, and how to clean up. Something that changes with each theme are the path games. Currently we have many different turn taking, game options. Roll and cover Octopus/Shells, magnetic octopus color and counting, sorting/matching socks, number recognition and math, and Mr. Pigeon drop and count.
