It is time to change to farm! We will learn about all kinds of farm animals, in STEM learning ways to build a barn, and lots of fine motor practice "feeding" animals, and cutting out a variety of shapes. We will learn some basic rules of fire safety, with the hopes of a visit from Mason Fire Department.
Today we worked on sorting in a new way; by size. We sorted buttons onto Pete by BIG, medium, and small. For some more cutting practice we also cut and matched buttons for a take home oppourtunity.
Sometimes a sensory break is needed in a preschool classroom. One of the ways we take those breaks is with shaving cream. It is great practice for writing in a fun and smells good way!

Sometimes preschool learning can be fun, and yummy-we sorted M&Ms based on color with the characters from the story, and then of course got to eat (if they wanted too)

Most books that we read during the school year, we connect back to it with our own verision. This week we made our Pete the cat: I love my white shoes into the Octopus Class: We LOVE our shoes. These books contain repeated text for emergent reading, name writing practice, learning names of friends, and of course a way to retell one of our favorite stories.
